Washington Hospital
Investing in the health of the community

How advertising gave a hospital back it's future.

To avoid closure, Washington Hospital had to make improvements and carry out seismic upgrades for earthquake safety.

To achieve that end, we were tasked with persuading residents in San Francisco's East Bay to approve a $190 million bond measure.

Getting the required 2/3 super majority vote was a seemingly impossible task, because 43% of voters were insured by Kaiser.

Our campaign made local people famous for being proud owners of an independent community hospital.

  • East Bay voters OK'd the bond measure.

  • A 223,000 sqft Critical Care Pavilion and Advanced ER, ICU and Coronary Care Unit was completed in 2018.

  • Today, Washington Hospital is consistently recognized as being one of the 100 best hospitals in America.
